Apple Inc. has released the feature rich Mac OS X Lion 10.7 for users to upgrade from the previous Snow Leopard version. But as reported earlier Apple dropped native support for some popular third-party environments including Java Runtime to implement Objective-C Coco APIs instead. That means some cool kids in town like the Adobe Flash and Java Runtime won’t come pre-installed with Mac OS X Lion. This is a major setback for all Adobe tools users out there, especially Adobe CS4 and older. But fortunately Apple lets you manually install older version of Java.
Java for Mac OS X Lion installs Java SE 6 version 1.6.0_26. (was available on Snow Leopard) on Mac OS X Lion 10.7 for users who wish to run older version of Adobe products including CS. Apple usually throws a message if an app requiring Java runtime is running which can be avoided by installing Java runtime, at least for now. Make sure you quit any web browsers before installing this software pack.
