To set location-based reminders just launch Reminders app on iOS 5 and first create a reminder by hitting the plus button on top right corner. Now under List click and select the reminder for which you wish to set location alert. Again click Remind Me and switch on At a location. Now the app will automatically locate your position and all you have to do is select When I Arrive or When I Leave to set a location-based reminder. So next time when you leave or arrive at that location-based on your selection you will be alerted with the message displayed on iOS 5 lock screen. Reminders app is also iCloud ready so the reminders set on one device can be synced wirelessly with other iDevices.

Update: When you switch on At a location you can also select a contact from your phone contacts list that includes location data attached. So that you will be alerted when you leave or arrive at your friend’s location.

So has anyone gotten this location feature to work on 3G IPad 2? If so, how?

You have to click on one of the items in your list to take you to the location screen.

I am having problems with this…

The reminders app is not showing the “at location” option!
I am in New Delhi, India and have downloaded ios5 on the ipad2.

Any idea on how i can get this to work?

    Thank you

You’ve missed an important step that dramatically ruins this app… You can only choose a Contact at which their location is used for the reminder. It should be called Contact Reminders. I don’t know about you but I don’t have all my local stores in my contact so makes this feature pointless!

Thank you! I’ve been having a heck of a time finding other people who seem to notice this glaring limitation. Apple really needs to fix it in the next update.
