Shazam, a major player in audio fingerprinting space popular for their iOS and Android apps has released yet another app for iPhone. Not going by the lines of other audio players in market, Shazam Player integrates some of the core Shazam technology to make listening to music worth while. This music player includes features like LyricPlay, YouTube videos, Social network sharing and music manager with playlist.
Once after downloading and installing Shazam Player, just like in any other music player you will have all the songs listed under three categories namely Artist, Album and Track. While a tap on songs play it, you can tap and hold to quickly add songs to ‘Good List’ or ‘Bad List’ playlists. This is a smart way to create playlists while listening to songs and when you don’t have any information about the album you’re about to listen to. Select an album and you will see a down arrow near songs listed under that album. The features that make Shazam Player unique are hid under that arrow. Click on it for the tab to show up that features LyricPlay for live lyrics, music discovery with YouTube videos, Tour dates, Twitter/ Facebook sharing, Playlists and Album Art.
Note that not all songs will be recognized by Shazam’s LyricPlay database as there are only over 30,000 tracks at the time of drafting. If LyricPlay support is available a blue music icon will be displayed near to the song name in playlist. Also the YouTube video feature pulls music videos related to song being played by searching with song tags as search keywords. It is not the accurate way to search and will not throw correct videos always. If you come across songs that are not properly tagged or with missing info, then you may hit the ‘Shazam’ logo on top right to switch to Shazam audio fingerprinting app that can identify the song for you. Make sure you have installed Shazam for iPhone before trying this.
