The ever-changing Twitter web interface and their decision to kill the original TweetDeck desktop client has left users in despair. The lack of certain useful features on Twitter.com (web interface) that was available on Tweetdeck and other third-party is being cited as the reason for less user affinity towards web app. The features in focus are quote retweet, tweet scheduling and multiple account options. These features are popular among users and I often see people searching for Twitter clients that support these. But for those who still love the Twitter web interface and miss the cool factors this browser extension for Chrome can cut it.
Grabinbox is a service that lets users manage multiple Twitter, Facebook and LinkedIn accounts along with message scheduling feature for each of the authorized accounts. The best part is the official Grabinbox extension available for Chrome browser also enables the old style quote or edit and RT feature on Twitter.com web UI.
Head over to Grabinbox Chrome extension page and install it. Once after installing login to Grabinbox account or create one by hitting the tab on browser bar. Now login with your Twitter or Facebook account to start authorizing and adding Twitter, Facebook and LinkedIn accounts. But our focus being Twitter lets proceed with feature related to it. Add one or more Twitter accounts to Grabinbox and close the tab. Now when you open Twitter.com and check tweets you will see a new link called GrabInbox on top of each tweet. Clicking on Grabinbox link brings up a Twitter compose like window with edit and RT option. Select the Twitter accounts to which you want to send that message and hit Post Now.
Alternatively you can schedule tweets by clicking the timer icon on left side of the Retweet box. Select a date and time at which you wish to post it and hit ‘Schedule’.
