What was an iOS only photo filter app earlier is now available for Android too. Instagram for mobile has changed the way users capture photos and share with friends. Now anyone with a camera phone running iOS or Android can quickly take photos, apply filter and upload to share it online. But the non availability of official apps for Windows and Mac OS is a turn off and it kills the Instagram experience when using third-party apps on desktops. The websites like Extragram does a pretty good job in delivering a streamlined and Instagram-ish experience but a native desktop app that can bridge the gap between a web and a desktop app is still missing. Well, the wait is now over at least for Windows users as a very Instagram like app is available now.
Hit ‘Instagram’ icon to launch the app and grant access to your account. The app consists of three tabs namely the Feed, popular photos and photos in your account. Under each of the tabs you will see Instagram photos arranged in a list or horizontal view. Here you will see a heart for liking a photo and comments button that opens up a window where users can drop comments for each photo.
Clicking on a photo will open it in full app screen with username and time stamp on top. Also you can quickly like a photo by clicking on it in full view mode too.
The ‘Account’ tab displays all your photos along with number of followers and following count. Also available is a Sign Out button for deauthorizing your Instagram account.
