Though you can get email alerts when someone comments, a text message alert on your phone can grab your attention when you are away from your work station. Interestingly a service called Notifo can do that.
Notifo is a service that can alert you when a particular event occurs. Notifo mobile app can receive alerts from blogs as notifications when someone comments. Once after installing the Notifo WordPress plugin on your blog and app in your iPhone or iPod touch you will start receiving alerts when a comment is found on posts. As of now the app is available only for iPhone but their website clearly suggests Android, Symbian, Blackberry and Windows Phone 7 apps are in pipeline.
Steps to install Notifo WordPress plugin on your blog:
- Download and install Notifo WordPress plugin. Activate it from plugins panel.
- Head to Notifo.com and log into your account, go into settings and copy the API key.
3. Visit the Notifo settings page on your blog and paste the API key with your username.
4. Test the service now.

Nice service but its currently only for iPhone
Apps for all other platforms are in pipeline. But Notifo as a service has many other cool features too.
