The Key logger softwares are quite famous among the desktop OS community especially Windows. These notoriously hideous piece of code can capture whatever you type via keyboard and relay them to the intruders destination usually by email means. These key logger softwares are usually used by hackers to spy on users to steal bank account details or email credentials to proceed further. But most of the Antivirus or Internet Security softwares can detect key loggers and warn users. If this is what happens on a desktop OS the scene at mobile OS was quite different till date. Considering the restrictions on mobile OS key loggers were absent. But the mother of all smartphones iPhone gets the first key logger software.

iKeyGuard is a key logger app for iOS available on Cydia app store that can record all the text user type via iPhone virtual keypad. Available for Jailbroken iPhone, iPod Touch and iPad this app is invisible and records every key press. The captured text can then be sent to a remote user via email. As a security measure the app settings can only be accessed via web interface. iKeyGuard can also be password protected.

iKeyGuard is available in Cydia app atore via BigBoss repo. Search for “iKeyGuard” for the app. iKeyGuard costs $9.99 and a lite free version is also available.

How to install iKeyGuard in iOS devices [Jailbreak App]:

  1. Jailbreak your device if not already jailbroken.
  2. Open Cydia, go to the Search tab, look for the “Key Logger – iKeyGuard” package and install it. (make sure you have the BigBoss source installed)
  3. Open Safari on your iDevice and enter the address http://localhost:4444
  4. You are running in trial mode, only a few words are logged. To buy a new licence code, click BUY.

    I have read that a new version is available on their website. Have you tried it? It is not in Cydia yet and I do not know how to install it so I will probably wait until it gets there. Are there some new features?
