Aura- App to Implement Windows 8 Auto-colourization Feature on Windows 7

Along with many other Windows 8 features leak there was a mention about Aero auto-colourization feature. This new feature believed to be hiding under desktop personalization window, allows Windows 8 to detect the colour of the wallpaper and match it to the colour on taskbar, start menu and Windows explorer. That said if you can’t wait till Windows 8 launch and want to have something similar on Windows 7 then here is what you are looking for.

Aura Auto Colorization

Auro for Windows 7 is a small executable file written in C# using WPF and Visual Studio 2010 that can change the colour on taskbar, start menu and Windows explorer according to the active window icon. That means with each application launch Windows 7 will change the Aero theme colour. Aura works on Windows Vista and Windows 7 running .NET Framework 3.5 or higher.

System Requirements for Aura:

  1. Windows Vista/7
  2. .NET Framework 3.5 or higher

When Skype (Blue icon) was launched the taskbar, start menu and explorer window turned light blue. Similarly you can see taskbar in yellow colour when we launched TweetDeck (Yellow icon).
