Update to Banshee 2.0 Media Player in Ubuntu 11.04 (Natty Narwhal)

The Banshee version 2.0.0 for Ubuntu has been released. This latest version of the popular media player for Ubuntu and the successor to Banshee 1.8 introduces many new features. For the uninitiated Banshee the free media player can play Ogg Vorbis, MP3 and FLAC file formats. The user interface has been improved with feature additions like the support for Amazon Cloud Player browsing and downloading, external Subtitles support, Multimedia Keys and many bug fixes. Banshee media player is by default available in Ubuntu 11.04 and if you wish to update it to the latest version 2.0.0 go ahead. Follow the steps below to taste Banshee 2.0 on Natty Narwhal.

Install Banshee 2.0 Media Player in Ubuntu 11.04 (Natty Narwhal):

1. Open the terminal and add the PPA by punching the following command line,

sudo add-apt-repository ppa:banshee-team/banshee-daily

2. Now tell your system to pull down the latest list of software from PPA you just added:

sudo apt-get update

3. Now start installing software from the PPA by typing the command below,

sudo apt-get install banshee
